Synecdoche (pronounced si-nek-duh-kee) is imagined as a design/make architecture studio exploring material constructions, their narratives, and the resulting environments they create. As a small practice we work in a fast and nimble environment as an effective production technique. Architecture creates opportunities to work in multiple scales within the same discipline. Our belief is that tangibles and experiences are simultaneous design problems. We work to create a studio for design models that work with personalities, business, culture, lifestyle and play. We are interested in working on all types of design problems to find creative solutions. Often our designs work through architecture and extend into the making of custom built furniture and installation pieces as they fit with the character and use of the place. As a small start-up we have a special appreciation for other small businesses and entrepreneurs. Design is often influenced by the business model to layout and detail spaces based on the specific mode and style of whatever the craft, product, skill or services our clients provide.
