Ansonia Public Schools is an urban school district located in the Lower Naugatuck Valley area in Connecticut. It serves more than 2,000 students attending various schools in the district, including Ansonia High School that enrolls students in grades 9 through 12. The district also has Ansonia Middle School that enrolls students in grades six through eight, and the John C. Mead School that enrolls students in grades three through five. Ansonia Public Schools also has John G. Prendergast School that offers various educational and co-curricular programs to students in prekindergarten through grade two. The district additionally operates various grant-funded programs, such as an alternative education program for middle and high school students and early education school readiness program for children of ages 3 and 4 years.
