I cannot say enough good things about Spector Furniture. We've purchased from them several times over the years. Most recently we purchased a mattress and a couch and love seat from them. Every interaction we've had with them has been outstanding - from the initial visit to select the furniture, through the sale process, and on to the final delivery. They take the time to listen to your needs, ask great questions to determine what your preferences might be, and communicate regularly until yoir purchase has been delivered to your home. We have heard of Spectors furniture for years but we don’t live in Ansonia and never seem to have found the store,probably didn’t look to hard as it is simple to find.
Anyway,we were at Spector’s last week and were so pleased.We had been looking for months at other stores not finding what we wanted.After less than an hour in Spectors,we bought a chair,couch and loveseat.The man helping us was awesome!! Wish we could remember his name;his vast knowledge,sunny personality and curly hair were all we seem to recall!

The folks at Spector were wonderfully helpful when we were looking for a new sofa — listening carefully, suggesting a wide range of alternatives without trying to steer us, and charging a very reasonable price for a sofa in precisely the size we wanted and a fabric of our choice. Before we found Spector, we must have gone to eight or ten furniture stores around southern and central Connecticut, most of them with well-known names and notably higher prices. It was a delightful surprise to find that a family-owned business, less than half an hour from us, offered far and away the best shopping and buying experience.

Spector’s delivery service was also outstanding. They called when the sofa arrived at the store (in the time frame they had promised), and they were very flexible when we needed to ask for rescheduling of the delivery. The delivery guys were great! The new sofa came in immaculate condition. At the time we purchased it, we had asked if the delivery men would be able to move the sleeper sofa that the new sofa would replace in the living room. But we were asking for them not just to take it away, as Spector offered to do for a very modest charge, but to move it to a sun porch in our home – which would require carrying it out the front door and then back in through a side door accessed through a tight turn on an elevated wooden platform. We knew the sofa bed was very heavy, even with its mattress removed, and we weren’t even sure if it would fit through the side door. But the guys from Spector, after careful inspection of the side entrance and tying down the sleeper’s innards, managed to move it no damage to the old behemoth, or to any part of the house or themselves. They really knew what they were doing.

Living in Hamden and rarely finding ourselves in Ansonia, we had never heard of Spector Furniture until we had spent a number of days visiting other stores. But now we can’t imagine going anywhere else as our first destination for new furniture.

Family run business, store from the outside isn't overly impressive but looks are deceiving. Great selection and the staff go far out of they way to please you. Not pushy and prices are competitive with, or beat the big impersonal store prices. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH!

I can't recommend Spector Furniture enough. I recently purchased furniture from this family owned business, and they provided wonderful customer service, a great selection at prices that beat the "big impersonal stores". They went far out of their way to please me, and the furniture was delivered in perfect condition. It was an quality experience that you rarely find anymore. I'll always go there first when looking for furniture from now on!

The sales staff is friendly, and never pushy. They go out of their way to help you find just what you are looking for.
