Established in 1929, Winter, Winter & Behrens has provided expert legal services for over 80 years, continuing today to offer legal counsel to a wide variety of clients. The firm provides expertise in several areas of law, including Business Organization, Real Estate, Personal Injury, Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate and Bankruptcy.* Winter, Winter & Behrens has also served as legal counsel for the City of Antigo for the past 85 years . Two attorneys with 30 years of experience and a skilled legal support staff combine to provide solutions to clients, continuing an 85-year tradition. The firm was established in 1929 by Gustav Winter, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, and native of Kewaunee County. In addition to providing counsel in many areas to individuals, businesses and organizations, Winter served for 40 years as Attorney for the City of Antigo, as well as for the Unified School District of Antigo. He was heavily involved in community affairs, serving on the board of directors of Wisconsin Timber & Land, Mattoon, the Fidelity Savings Bank, and was a member of the State Bar Association of Wisconsin, Langlade County Bar Association and the Benchers Society. The founding attorney died in 1992. In 1962, Richard Winter, a fellow University of Wisconsin Law School graduate, began legal practice, and recently retired in 2013, having provided legal counsel for 51 years. Mr. Winter passed away in 2014. Norman R. Wild joined the firm in 1976, practicing for 26 years until his death in 2003. Valparaiso Law School graduate Michael Winter, son of Richard and grandson of Gustav, joined the firm in 1995, and Vermont Law School graduate, Shawn M. Behrens, began legal practice with the Winter, Winter & Behrens firm in 2004. * We are a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.
