Provided by SuperpagesWould not recommend for the Asian Academy for learning real self-defense. Most of the one step self defense and ho sin sool techniques are not viable - especially against a larger opponent. As a whole, the art that is taught at the academy is actually poor for actual street self-defense. The way Tae Kwon Do is taught at the Asian Academy is mostly children oriented. Most of the parents that take their children to the Asian Academy have no understanding of combat and they think all of the techniques that are taught actually will work in actual combat - this is anything but true. The belt test are pretty simple, especially breaking the boards, which requires very little power. The forms that are taught at the Asian Academy are of almost no value for real self defense. The only good things that can be derived from the Asian Academy are: exercising and developing child discipline.
