first my disclaimer, I DO teach classes there-- but aside from that I WOULD join this gym, for LOCATION and the fact that they have Les Mills classes and it's pretty new (owner added new types of cardio machines after he opened too, which says it will be kept up). You can not get a better deal overall in Apex. The people are nice; yes, there are issues with the door not opening but recently I had NOT have a problem (I was told they fixed it and have not had issues since). AND they are expanding, it's being upfitted right now (you can see it for yourself.) New space will have a much bigger group fitness room, and I believe more space for personal trainers and their clients! So the space issue will not be an issue soon. I can understand with the early early AM thing of the previous reviewer, I would be frustrated with the with no shirts too, but seriously, this gym is worth trying out. Fitness Connection might be cheaper and bigger (I teach there too) but I live in Apex, and when it comes time to working out, I would make to Fit for Life a lot easier and MORE OFTEN than driving 10-12 minutes to Cary for a workout.

It's awful and I would not recommend anyone join! I have belonged to over 10 gyms and this is by far the worst. It's crazy to me that they charge $25/month unless you happen to stumble upon a pay in full special.

From the start, I have had issues. My husband and I signed up on Black Friday at $149 for a year. This may seem like a good deal but when you do the math, they are still charging more than it is to join to Fitness Connection - a MUCH larger gym. This gym is so tiny and they sold us on the fact that it was 24 hour access and that they were going to expand into the space next to them - BOTH OF WHICH WERE LIES.

I go to the gym at 430am and have had multiple occurrences where I have gotten out of bed at 4am to get to the gym and have the door not open. I have addressed this issue each and every time only to be assured that they "have fixed the problem and it won't happen again". If you talk to any other early birds, they will tell you it's happened to them multiple times as well.

On the flip side, if you decide to work out after work - expect to have to step all around trainers who take up the entire space and have no common courtesy for other people working out. It's so ridiculously crowded you can barely get through a set of exercises without someone stepping in your space.

To top it all off, go on a Sunday morning where some meatheads decide to work out WITH NO SHIRTS on all because there is no staff present to regulate it.

I have repeatedly requested a refund for myself and my husband, mainly because of the issues with facility access. The owner finally agreed to give me a refund but refused to give my husband one all because we technically signed up on separate contracts to get the "special".

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND THE AGGRAVATION - go to a different gym!!
