Mehrdad Behnia, MD, is a founding physician of AdventHealth Medical Group Pulmonology at Apopka, he is a recognized expert in his field with years of clinical and academic experience. Prior to joining our team in Central Florida, he practiced for 15 years in Augusta, GA, where he directed the intensive care unit, respiratory therapy department and cardiopulmonary exercise laboratory at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA. He was also Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Georgia. His research interest is in cardiopulmonary exercise testing in COPD, which was the focus of his PhD degree. He has collaborated on research with Mayo Clinic and Sydney University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and of the American College of Physicians.
