Even with a 7:30 reservation (which should be late enough to get us seated) we waited until 8:30 to get a table. By then the baked potato that I ordered had been sitting for quite some time as the skin was tough and the potato was only warm. While I cannot complain about the steak (which was cooked perfectly) and the service (once we were seated), by the time we WERE seated I had really lost my hankerin for a good steak and just wanted to go home. This was my first time at Georges and will likely be my last as I can get a good steak at many other places in The Valley and not have to wait an hour past our reservation. Had I walked in off the street with no reservation, my opinion MAY have been different. But that was not the case and thus I will look elsewhere in the future to fulfill my craving for beef

Friday fish is a must at George's

If you haven't tried the friday fish at George's....well, you should. They are know for the fish but they will be. Try it out you will not be disappointed.

Never again

I was served spoiled meat and when I told the waitress, I didn't even receive an apology. Have eaten there since and found the food to be extremely mediocre. I just don't understand the hype about Georges!

Amazing

One of the BEST steaks I've ever had. I had the filet mignon. It was so tender I could have cut it with my butter knife. I worked for a meat company that supplied steaks to high quality restaurants. I am very picky. This was excellent. Breaded shrimp was so fresh. Wonderful cheesy au gratin potatoes. Very friendly service. Absolutely wonderful! I will definately go back.

I have eaten at Georges at least 75 times during my 30 year stay in the Valley. IMO the food quality has dropped and the service is adequate at best. During my last 3 visits I have ordered the fish fry. The fish tastes like fryer oil and the french fries tast like fish. The quality of their steaks has also gone down hill. Something has changed. The service staff treated us like an inconviences. The bartender ( the bitchy one) was rude. I have better ways to spend my entertainment dollar. Lombardi's has great steaks and fabulous service. Red Ox, very consistent food and service. If you are not in a hurry Club Tavern in downtown Menasha has a great ribeye at a good price. Georges, you have three strikes and you are out.

A Class Act

George's reminds me of restaurants of my youth; the kind that make you feel like you're somewhere special. The dining room is cozy without being crammed. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. And the cherry on top is the piano bar. Who has a piano bar anymore? It is absolutely WONDERFUL! Another bonus is they take (and you will need) reservations. If you want really good food and a pleasant night out in a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere go to George's. It will remind you of a time when going out to dinner was special.

Great Steaks

We have been enjoying Georges' for over ten years now. We even had our wedding rehersal dinner their. It is our favorite place faor all the special occasions in our life. Try them out you won't be disapointed.
