Be careful before slamming the small local health food store for higher prices that huge competitors, you are comparing apples and oranges! The existence of competition is best for pricing and if you won't give credit where it is due, we will lose our smaller, local alternatives. Many of the big chain stores do little for local manufacturers and this is where this Aptos Natural Market actually shines. Few of the local mom and pops have the benefit of scale, hence a dollar or two higher price that we become accustomed to with the big mass produced/distributed products. I have found the staff to be responsive when help is requested plus and I have been asked of I need help many, many times when it wasn't needed. You can interpret any concentration on their other work/.customers requests as elitist, but that is more a reflection upon the commenter than any of the staff's their intentions. I have worked for other local retailers for almost a decade now, and I find them to be a respectable store and one I would never want to be without the alternative with which to shop. I would regret the day when I HAD to drive to Capitola to shop in a big mass marketer and btw in all fairness, the attention you get in the vitamin department at Whole Foods leaves much to be desired and a fair assessment would put Aptos Natural Market out ahead in customer assistance with supplements and ability to respond with special orders and returns.
