Calhoun Produce Inc. was incorporated in 1992 and is located at 5075 Hawpond Road. It is owned and operated by Gerald and Joyce Calhoun and their son, Brad, and daughter, Sheila Rice. The farm is a Georgia Agri-tourism site. In the spring we grow five acres of strawberries. You can bring your family out and enjoy picking strawberries, eating homemade strawberry ice cream, strawberry shortcake and strawberry lemonade. We also have Spring Fun on the Farm which includes wagon rides, farm animals, pig races, and more. We have a family shelter for picnics and birthday parties. We offer spring and fall field trips daily for area schools, home schools, church groups, etc. Blackberry picking season is late May- mid July. Our main crop is fresh shelled butterbeans and peas. We begin picking in early June to late October. The business has grown continuously with several area farmers growing butterbeans and peas for us also. We harvest, process, and market the vegetables. The butterbeans and peas are shelled and packed in 8 lb bags. We grow a variety of peas including: pink eyes, zippers, creams, white acres, lady fingers, crowders and black eyes. We also carry many other seasonal fruits and vegetables grown locally. We operate two seasonal farm markets at our farm in Turner county and on the Cordele State Farmers Market. In October we have Fall Fun on the Farm which includes a corn maze, wagon rides, farm animals and more. The fall activities are open to the public on Saturdays and open for field trips during the week. We specialize in “AGRITAINMENT” We also blanch and freeze fruits and vegetables on the farm to sell year round. During the Christmas season we special in gift baskets and gift boxes. We carry farm related items, home décor, gourmet jellies and jams, local honey, fresh breads, chocolate candy and brittles.. We offer online internet shopping and shipping year-round.
