I have a very bad experience by hiring KJ’s Handyman Service did my home repair and maintenance from 6/18/2018 to 6/20/2018. The initial quoted price was $1740, when the work was started the first day on 6/18/2018, Steve (Ken’s daddy) with another person was working onsite. I found the woods on the crown was rotten, and replacing only one piece of wood, caulking and painting the crown on the initially quoted would not help. After I discussed with Steve, he asked and I agreed to pay additional $250 to replace the crown. The total should be $1740 + $250 = $1990. Minus the initial $870 deposit, I only owe them $1120. But after they finished the work on 6/20/2018, the final invoice they billed me $1630 = $2500 - $870.

During they were working on the crown installation, they broke my screen window under the crown.

When I called Ken, the owner and told him my screen window was broken by them when they were doing the crown installation, and asked him why he overcharged me $510. Ken denied their responsibility rudely and dishonestly for broke my screen window, and threatened me to put a lien on my house if I would not pay him the full amount $1630.

As I only discussed with Steve, and I agreed to pay $250 extra for replacing the crown. Rest of work has been covered within initially quoted price. The work started to end, Ken never told me I should pay more to get something done. All the work they did and done was their responsibility and had been covered in the initially quoted $1740 plus $250 I discussed and I agreed with Steve.

After I got threatened, I checked BBB KJ’s Handyman Service complaints and realized that I just one of Ken's victims got threatened and blackmailed because less than 1% of people posted their complaints on BBB.

I sent an email and told them again I only owe them $1120 and asked them to replace my screen window they damaged but they sent me an email to inform me that KJ’s Handyman Service, LLC would file a Construction Lien against my house.

" Bill" was fantastic, he fixed every thing on our daughter, Traci's list. What a very nice, professional man. I asked if he worked outside the state as in MI. b/c we had water damage & because of that ServPro had to remove the paneling & the sheetrock 2 sections. Sadly Bill said no, he could not travel outside IN. He is grt. Traci is our daughter, we are her parents visiting from MI for her birthday
