John Harwood is a masterful and patient music teacher who helps each student, young or older, develop their musical talent to the level of their ability. He greets every student with a broad smile, and has a special twinkle in his eye for his youngest students, especially those who might be struggling a bit. His encouragement and support are boundless.

In my late 60’s, with a bass guitar, some sheet music, and no ability to read music that I wanted to play, I went in search of a guitar teacher and found John. I was his student for more than seven years, and during that time I went from just plucking strings to learning where the notes were on the fretboard and being able to play the music. John also encouraged me to sing some of the songs I most enjoyed.

Although some physical issues ended my musical endeavors, I still look back with fondness on the many hours I spent at Johnny’s Music Studio challenging my brain and my fingers to produce music.
