Founded in 1955, Clearbrook is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of services and opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. It serves individuals suffering from autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and mental retardation. The organization operates more than 40 locations in over 80 communities in Chicago. Clearbrook offers residential, clinical and developmental training services. It also provides employment services for clients. The organization offers CHILD, which is a family-focused program that facilitates a child s development in the areas of cognition, speech and language, and social and motor skills. Clearbrook is a member of the Illinois Association of Rehabilitation Facilities. It is licensed, certified and accredited by the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois Department of Public Health.
