Attorney Don R. Stewart in Arlington Texas may have financial trouble. I sued him in court and won. I still was unable to collect my judgment because he owed the IRS and several others. He even owed the Yellow Pages for advertising fees. Clients beware; your retainer may be used to pay his overhead and payroll before he does anything on your case. Do your due diligence and look up county records. All the liens and judgments against him are public record. I will likely never collect, but hopefully can help someone else.

I could go on with what I know about him, but have no desire divulge all the information I have. My goal is to educate others to avoid unnecessary grief.

To protect yourself: Look up attorney using county public records, Have the attorney sign a contract, Require the attorney to give you a monthly statement of charges.

Please note: Your attorney is not allowed to use your retainer fee until the work has been performed. An attorney delinquent on debts may still practice in the state of Texas as long as it’s not child support or making payments to the IRS.

Rip off

First of all I'm not the type of person who writes reviews but hopefully this will save you money. I paid Mr. Stewart to construct a contract for a business deal which was a little pricey. Later I needed to take that client to court went back to mr Stewart to help with going to enforce the contract. Turns out there are too many loop holes in the contract it's ridiculous. Trying to get a hold of him and getting him to call back is impossible.. Staff is very unorganized and very unprofessional. Spend your money here at your own risk!!! You were warned

First Impressions

I called from out of state from a random selection of Attorneys online. I must say I was fortunate to have reached Don after hours and he not only took the time to explain the process but also set reasonable expectations relative to my needs. Further to that and based on his thirty some years experience he professionally referred me to an associate at his office whom this matter would be more suitably served by at a reasonable fee. My first impression of Don is extremely credible and I am confident that I my needs will be met satisfactorily. TH Sylvania, Ohio
