Dr. Salem Akkad is one of the very few dentists who underwent formal training in dental sleep medicine, TMJ disorders and orofacial pain. In fact, he is the only board-certified dentist in South DFW by the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Akkad is also a member of the Methodist Health System. After earning his Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. Akkad completed a Masters in Prosthodontics at West Virginia University School of Dentistry, followed by a one-year Fellowship in Dental Sleep Medicine, Orofacial Pain and TMJ Disorders at the world renowned Orofacial Pain Center at the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry in Lexington. Since 2008 his work was focused on prosthodontics, implants, Orofacial pain, and dental sleep medicine. He then opened Sleep & Snoring Solutions in Arlington in late 2012.
