Helping Restore Ability does not meet the expectations of their mission statement. They are in place to help guide individuals and their families to resources to help them remain within their homes and communities. However, my experience with them has been the exact opposite. I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and have never encountered an organization with such a lack of professionalism. We utilize their financial management services option formerly known as the CDS option. Once you sign up with HRA, you become one of hundreds of other clients. It is virtually impossible to speak with a live human. Your phone calls will not be returned in a timely manner. When you do speak with someone, be prepared to hear all of the reasons why they can not or deliberately will not help you. You will not be offered solutions. Remember you are just a number. "Helping restore ability", that is a joke. If this agency is recommended to you by Texas Dept run in the other direction

Support staff is severely lacking in customer service skills and management (Stacey)follow their lead. They refuse to pay employees for late time sheets with valid reason. Unyielding: unreasonable and unprofessional. My autistic son has an attendant (3 years) they refuse to pay. Supposedly notice sent out that building closing for repair so timesheets needed 1 day earlier. Timesheets on time. No pay ck on payday. Want me to come out of my pocket. Management upholding! Don't get caught in the 600 others they have besides you. You will be just another number ! Run
