The Newcomer Center is an educational facility that serves more than 320 students. Founded in 1994, it offers classes in various subjects, such as English and math. The school also administers English as Second Language and Adult Workplace EL-Civics programs. The Newcomer Center has a staff of over 25 members and provides guidance counseling services. Its after-school activities include soccer, softball, baseball, computer technology, drama and choir. The school conducts field trips to banks, libraries and municipal facilities. In addition, the Newcomer Center provides reading, writing, computation and spelling skills development sessions. It is a part of the Arlington Independent School District.
