Arlington Traditional School has been offering an elementary alternative curriculum since 1978. The school is located in Arlington, Va., and serves students in prekindergarten through grade five. It is affiliated with the Arlington County Public Schools and has an enrollment of more than 400 students. The various subjects offered by the school include reading and language arts, English, mathematics, computation, history, geography, civics, economics, family science and technology and physical education. In addition, it offers music, fine and performing arts and computer technology classes. The school provides transportation services as well. It offers a variety of extracurricular activities that include theme-based reading challenge, mathematics league contest, drama, band, chorus and musical instrumental ensembles. Arlington Traditional School also organizes various field trips and visits to local planetarium.
