We had brand new front rotors placed on our 2004 Nissan Quest in October of 2008 at Smokey Point RV and Auto repair...They had to be turned again in the spring of 2009 and now in July they have had to be turned again. So, when we called Nissan they told us that the Rotors had obviously not been installed right to have the warping take place as quickly as it did.

When I called Wes at the Smokey Point RV and Auto to discuss this with him he told me that he could not send the rotors back because he had not used Nissan pads even though he bought the rotors from Nissan. The Rotors would need to be turned, not sent back and he was going to charge me over 100$ to do them!

So, I took the van in today and he turned the front rotors, then he called me and told me that I would need to have the rear rotors turned also which would run me to over $300!!!

So, I reluctantly agreed and then an hour later he called and said that I would have to buy new rear rotors because they could not be turned which would run me $100 each just for the parts. Needless to say, I said no. He then told me that he had already turned the rear left rotor and that it should be "OK". Even though he had just said that he couldn't turn the rotors.

So, when I arrived to pick up the Quest he charged me $45.00 for having inspected the rotors, even though he said that he would have to replace them.

So, here is the scam as I see it. A mechanic calls a consumer and tells him that rear rotors need to be turned and then he inspects them and tells you that they can't be turned but you have to pay $45 just to have him tell you that he cannot do what he talked you into doing only an hour before.

My rear rotors are no better than before but I had to pay $45 for the privilege of finding that out. Consumer beware!
