My son started lessons at teVelde when he was just 3 1/2. At the time, I thought that he would be too young, but Bonnie assured us that he would learn Perfect Pitch if he started. Now, 6 years later, at 9, my son not only has Perfect Pitch, but he plays piano beautifully and reads music fluently! My 4 year old daughter started lessons about 2 years ago, and at 6, she also now has Perfect Pitch. Our family has been so blessed by Bonnie teVelde and her wonderful team of teachers. She matched both of my children up with exactly the right teacher and instrument for their personality types through a site called http://kidzmet.com. As a result, they LOVE their lessons every week.

I just can't say enough about teVelde Schools of Music. Lessons of this quality should be a lot more expensive. Every teacher takes personal care to see that my children get fun, motivational, and thorough music lessons. Their concerts are twice a year, and teVelde spends the extra money to rent the Clark Center with the Steinway Piano just so our children will get an opportunity to play in a beautiful concert hall on a professional piano!

teVelde is a first class experience in every way, at a price that fits into our family budget. Parents are encouraged to participate in their children's lessons, at no extra cost. My son did the School of Rock Summer Camp and the Piano Boot Camp this last summer. Now he can play a song on 4 instruments he never played before, and I can't believe how motivated he is to play. My daughter is continually singing and playing her songs on the piano. They have 2 schools, one in SLO, and one in Arroyo Grande, and we can have lessons at either one! Our kid's schedules change every season with sports and scouts, and teVelde works with us to find lesson times that are convenient for both of our children.

Last Spring, 2013, my husband and I made the decision to start lessons ourselves. My husband takes guitar, and I am taking banjo. Our goal is to play music together as a family. This is a dream Bonnie had for us 6 years ago, but at the time, I had no idea it could actually happen. If you have big musical dreams for your family, take lessons at the school that can make them come true!

I only have great things to say about the teachers at te Velde Music - my daughter has been taking lessons from Sierra since the age of 5 and the TAP method (especially the new books and cds) that Bonnie has developed has brought even more excitement into her lessons - she is excited about hearing, feeling, and reading/understanding music and looks forward to practicing and her lessons. She talks about learning additional instruments as she grows older (especially voice, drums and guitar). There is no better school ready to help develop young musicians into what they aspire to be.

I take piano and voice lessons from Bonnie and she is awesome. I have learned so much from her, and I would never go anywhere else. She finds fun music for me that makes me feel like playing every day. She has a recording studio, so when I learn to sing a song, I can see how to do it right on the computer screen! I can even take home a CD of myself singing and playing piano after the lesson.

I love music, and I think Bonnie is part of the reason why. I had another piano teacher, and I almost quit piano because it seemed too hard. Then Bonnie asked me to give it another try, and I'm really glad I did. I'm going to play piano and sing forever because I love it so much!
