Provided by YP.comDownhill since Carol Lockman, P.A. left the practice at 7 Vanderbilt Park Dr. I'm an established patient seen for chronic neck pain. They ordered an MRI, gave me a steroid injection, which didn't help, prescribed Celebrex, which didn't help, then prescribed a 2 week therapy of prednisone that was terrific. Carol told me we could do that about 3 or 4 times a year. Many months after the effect wore off & I was in terrible pain with my spondylosis, stenosis, arthritis & a bulging disk, I phoned the office to request another 2 week prescription for the prednisone. I was told that Carol was no longer there and Dr. Burke refused my request relaying a message through her medical assistant that I should consult my family doctor for that. WHAT? I don't see my
family doc for spinal problems. I went to Carolina Spine and Neurosurgery Center for that. What is Dr. Burke's problem??? I called back several days later because I could not accept that response and guess what....it's been 3 days & my call has not been returned. I gave one star because I couldn't give none but if Carol was there I'd give 5.

Provided by YP.comDr. Kahout is a very competent young doctor with a pleasant bedside manner. Dr. Kahout's nurse, Rene was very helpful and accommodating when my MRI was not scheduled as planned. However, I have found the office frustrating to deal with. For some reason, the office is unable to do any patient correspondence by email. It must be done by fax, which can be very inconvenient for a patient or family. If you do not have faxing capability at home, you must either drive and drop off or go somewhere and pay to fax documents (e.g. FMLA paperwork). Often people can fax from work, but also, in many cases by the time someone is able to return to work, it will be too late for the paperwork. I know Mission Health has ways to encrypt and secure external email documents so I wish the office would catch up to the times. Additionally, calling the office and getting to speak to the right person can turn out to be a big run around that ends in having to leave a message and wait for a return call.

Provided by YP.comI saw 2 Doctors at the practice, and neither was of any help at all. Both were rude and very unprofessional. My advice is to get your primary physician to refer you to someone in Winston Salem or Charlotte. This place will just waste your time and take your money.

Provided by YP.comDr Rhoton has performed 2 back surgeries on me, out of 4. Dr. Rhoton is the best in his business! Not only is he a good surgeon but he genuinely cares about his patients. It is so hard for me to believe these bad reviews! It isn't Dr. Rhoton's fault that I live in pain, have 2 pages of diagnoses, walk with a bad limp, have a deformed spine, and on top of all that, I'm old and can't remember half of what he says. (That's why my niece goes with me.)
The staff at CSNS is, in my opinion, the same as any other doctor's office. They are stressed when they are busy or running behind. I agree the front office makes or breaks your opinion of the rest of your visit and there have been times when that could have gone better. And check-out also! But I have never had a problem with the staff on the floor or Dr Rhoton. He is late sometimes but he's a surgeon and some people take more time than others..
I couldn't ask for a better doctor!!!

Provided by YP.comDr. Rhoton examined me and said his staff would contact me to set up a surgery date within he next few weeks. He advised to stop taking my vitamins and herbs as they could add to bleeding. I waited 2-3 months without a call. When I called I was told, because I had a prior cervical disk surgery, they were looking for another surgeon to make an opening. This was never mentioned on my appointment with him and frankly I think the reason is disingenuous.
I had my primary call to schedule an appointment with another surgeon in the same office. At this appointment I was informed, he was running behind and still in surgery and there were 4 people ahead of me. I had other plans and couldn't wait the additional 2-3 hours to see him. It ever occurred to the staff to call me to come in later.
A doctor is only as pod as the office staff. The low grades earned are because of the lack of candidness of the first Doctor and the office staff is the worst I have ever experienced. The staff acts like they are doing me a favor by talking with me and there's a complete lack of communication between staff. I wouldn't have this outfit cut my toenails let alone operate on my spinal column.

Provided by YP.comWaited 3 weeks just to get a shot into my spine for pain but checking out was a nightmare. They have some sour puss woman who thinks she's a nurse I guess and her attitude was the worst I've seen in the last 20 years of going to all these doctors. She sits there and tells me to eat aspirin after the procedure and I just said my vicodin seem to work better and she rolls her eyes. Then as she goes on she tells me to use ice instead of heat on my back. I tell her I've been using heat for 20 years and it works way better me. She then replies: could you wait until I'm done? All I'm thinking is that I have been sitting here watching you talk to a co-worker about your fantastic night out with your friend, I know you really need to get back to all that important stuff. Then as I was leaving she asks, whats your pain level? I tell her it's always a 10 and she says: then why do you bother going through all of this? Nice personal you have there Carolina Spine. I'll be sure not to come back.

Provided by YP.comI was supposed to have a appointment with dr. Hoski, but only got to see bill fowler, PA . I had to wait two hours on him and then he only spent a few minutes in the room. He blew me off and I don't believe he even looked at my CT scan. I don't appreciate paying to see a specialist and then get stuck only to see someone who doesn't act like he knows anything about anything.

Provided by YP.comI never got the chance to see a relief of my pain from surgery. The front office girls which are the face of the business took me wrong when i called with confusion, and told my doctor to fire me from my surgery 4 days prior too. It hurts my heart to see that my doctor took their word before even asking me what happen. Instead he fired me from my surgery. Now i lay here in deep pain, and sadness.....
