Chico's started in 1983 as a small boutique selling Mexican folk art on Sanibel Island in Florida. Then one day, the founders discovered the sweater, pivoted the business and retail was never the same. The rich colors, bold prints, unique artisanal details, problem-solving styles, and amazing personal service made a lasting connection with customers. Now there are over 500 Chico's boutiques nationwide, a monthly catalog, international locations and round-the-clock shopping at our website.

My Saturday shopping trip.

My daughter and I went shopping Saturday at Chico's. We entered the store and looked all around. My daughter found some things that she wanted to try on. We took them to the dressing room and started trying them on. We had been in the store at least 20 minutes and there was no one that spoke to us or asked us anything. They did not ask if they could help or if we were having any luck in the dressing room. After trying everything on and hearing them talk to others in the store we decided to leave and go somewhere else and shop. We left the store and still was not spoken to. We went into Cold Water Creek and had several sales people helping us with the things we needed. They helped find sizes and see what was the best for us. I told them what had happened to us in Chico's and they said that they had had lots of people come into their store with the same stories. I talked to another person today who shopped there Saturday with her (grown) daughter and they had the same experience. You might want to note that we spent $300.00 in Cold Water Creek. I like the clothes at Chico's but I do not like the service and would much rather go to Cold Water Creek and other stores where I feel welcome. We might wear our new clothes in there and see what happens then.

No sales help around to help you! Was in store for at least 1/2 hour was never asked if I needed help, even though I had several items on my arm...awful customer service...will shop elsewhere in Biltmore Village Asheville. After all there is J. Jill and Coldwater Creek within 1 block!
