I wouldn't send someone I DIDN'T like here! This place is horrific. My aunt was admitted yesterday, after having her knee replaced Wednesday. The first day, they made her sit in her wheelchair, bending her knee at a 90 degree angle. That's a HUGE no-no for knee replacements! They won't give her water, they let her sugar drop to 40 because they didn't feed her, they won't give her the prescribed ice pack for her knee, which is now so swollen it looks like it's going to pop. The therapist refuses to follow the surgeon's orders for therapy and said, "It doesn't matter what that doctor told you. You're here now. You're going to do therapy MY way."
We are in the process of calling adult protective services, filing a complaint with the ombudsman, and contacting the health department. This is outrageous. My poor aunt is afraid to say anything because she's worried they will treat her worse. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stay out of this dump! Also, I'm a registered nurse, and I know a thing or two about this type of situation. I just happen to be in Ohio and unable to travel to advocate for her in person. If you love your family member, keep them far away from Emerald Ridge!
