I read about Di on YP looking for a home daycare for my 10 month old. Given a bad experience from a prev home care i was skeptical about visiting Di's first. But, when i met and saw Di interact with my son ALL my concerns/doubts were put to rest. My son, stuggling with stranger anxiety, instantly connected with her. I could tell she LOVES what she does and is AWESOME with kids! I HIGHLY recommend her.

Di's Playcare is the best thing that every happened to us when finding care for our son. Prior to Di's, our son was in a different day care where there was a lot of unstructured play and not much learning. My son (very bright) was not thriving. Once we got to Di's he started blossoming. He was so happy! He learned numbers, letters, how to do arts and crafts, cooking, and so much more. Each week there was a theme around which learning play was created--farms, the solar system, all designed for littles. I'll never forget the day I dropped him off and Di said, "Oh, we're going to milk cows today." And that's what they did! She had created an activity where kids could learn what that was like! I have learned so much from Di about child care and child development. She has encouraged me to think about how toddler's minds work and ways we can change our own speech to better communicate with them. Since moving out of state I have had a terribly hard time finding new care because Di has set the bar so high. She goes above and beyond. She cared for my son when I was in the hospital giving birth to my daughter. After moving across the country she continued to chat and FaceTime with us regularly so my son could continue a sense of normalcy and connection during all the transitions. A year later, she continues to text and e-mail me answering my questions about toddler develop and my requests for advice. She is an amazing woman with a true love for what she does. I can't think of a place I would rather have my children. I wish I could move her out here with me!

Di's playcare is awesome! I can't say enough good things about it. We started at one daycare and while they did lots of play, they simply did not understand my child and there wasn't much learning happening during the playing.

My son has just thrived at Di's. He brings home neat crafts, things he has cooked, and he gets exposure to a lot of neat activities and things that I have been learning about from Di since I am still new to this whole parenting thing.

Did I mention how much my son is learning? He comes home and uses words he has learned from Di's. He has learned a lot of his letters and numbers and it seems really early. I credit Di for how much progress he has made. He learns from us at home, but the work that Di does has definitely accelerated his growth.

I am also learning as a parent. In our conversations, Di has taught me a lot of things and influenced how I interact with my son so that he is calmer, easier to manage, easier to communicate with, and I never knew how much he was capable of before Di made suggestions to me in how to work with him. After trying her suggestions, it has been great seeing how much my son can understand and respond to, answer and communicate himself, and just be an all around happy guy.

We are moving out of state for job reasons and the thing I will miss most is the wonderful environment and friendship and learning that is taking place at Di's for both the little AND the big people too. We will miss you, Di!

IN RESPONSE TO SUNNY SIDE DOWN...

IN RESPONSE TO SUNNY SIDE DOWNER!!

I disagree with your comments stated about Di's Playcare. My daughter has been attending her services for about 3 years now. I have never had a problem with her services on any level. Quite frankly, Di has an unbelievable patience level. Which amazes me and Di's positive attitude towards the kids! All I have to say are very good things & I'm pleased on how my daughter is turning out from attending Di's Playcare. Highly Recommend!!!!!

I just wanted to send a response to this person. Who should get their facts straight before slandering a business owner like Di's Playcare. 5 STARS...

Warning!!!!! The woman who run...

Warning!!!!! The woman who runs this day care is condescending and rigid. She will probably talk to you as though you are one of her "little friends". She is not flexible when it comes to different parenting styles and she will not treat your child like the individual that he or she is. She can't handle feeling like she doesn't have control.... over everything. She asks for a full month's payment up front each month which is unheard of in this industry. See for yourself, but I wouldn't waste your time.

Hello Mariya, I just want to apologize if I said something, or was perceived in a way to be controlling, or condescending in any way in the interview. That is not my intention, ever. I respect all forms of parenting and strive to incorporate each families' "ways" of doing things to the best of my ability in my program with safety as my first priority. You seemed so eager to start when you left, I would have never known you felt that way. Again, I am very sorry for the way I came across and for hurting your feelings in any way. I will use this as an opportunity to see if its possible I make anybody else in my life feel that way. Thank you. Di

The Best Child Care Education Ever

“As first time parents my husband and I were your typical overly concerned parents. We researched all different options from, Nanny's to large corporate day cares to ones that had infant rooms, toddler rooms and finally home day cares for our 8 month old. After talking to other parents and getting conflicting opinions we started visiting different locations. Soon we came across Di's Little Friends Play Care. After seeing how Di was with her current group of "little friends" I have to say we were sold.

If you ever watch the interaction between Di and her group you can see she cares for the children and their development as if they were anyone of her four children. Di's playcare is more than just keeping an eye on your children she is focused on helping them learn and develop. She has a routine that involves lots of songs inter-twinded with science projects and reading skills. She is also very consistent when it comes to reinforcing those “pleases” and “thank yous”.

One of the things I have been most impressed with Di was the concern she had for our daughter outside of her house. There was never a feeling of day is done time to go, she always kept us informed about what Ashley got up to that day and let us know what they were doing during the week so we could re-enforce any of these skills at home. One of the things I learned was a phrase called "use your words" Di would say this to the children if they tried whining to get attention or something they wanted. Di would patiently tell them, I can't understand you if you don't "use your words". At home now anytime my daughter starts to get a little antsy we say use your words and she almost always stops fussing and tries to say something although we can't always make it out :) The list goes on and on about what we have learned from Di's experience as a care giver and parent.

If we had not moved away our daughter would still be there. Where we live now we have yet to find anyone as Good as Di, perhaps she set the bar too high but there is just no one like her.

Like A Second Home

My son has attended Di's Little Friends Playcare since he was four months old and considers it a second home. He is always happy and well adjusted when I pick him up. He frequently talks about his day there well after he leaves and is always eager to return.

I have known Dianna Hopper for...

I have known Dianna Hopper for several years. At various points, she has lovingly cared for all three of my sons. She is a kind, thoughtful, insightful, gentle, and warm person. Her playcare is organized, structured, and provides a nice learning environment for the children. My boys loved going there and I felt good knowing they were in such a safe, positive environment....both physically and emotionally. My boys are older now but we still keep in touch with Dianna and are grateful for the love she has shown our family throughout the years.

Love Di!

Dianna is awesome with kids. My son always has a great time and learns so much. I appreciate how she teaches him to resolve conflict with words, not a fit; her monthly themes and just her love and respect for my little boy.

I would definitely recommend Di's Little Friends Playcare!

More that just a 'daycare'

My child was listened to by Di in a way that i didn't know to listen to a child. She helped me know that my child can do more that i gave him credit for and that i can allow my child more room to grow and learn by watching and asking him questions to let him think for himself. I still find this very rewarding.

I can often be a "telling" parent. My child still talks about his good times, reading, cooking, thinking, building, and the very warm memories he has from Di's Playcare.

I highly recomend children of all ages spend time with Di Di.

Great daycare!

My daughter really loves going to Di's Little Friends Playcare. As a parent, I feel like it's the next best thing to being able to be with her myself. Di is very warm and makes the kids really feel cared for. She is very active and keeps them engaged in activities, whether it's baking cookies, playing outdoors, or doing a creative craft activity, or learning something some new knowledge or skill. Di really puts her heart and soul into caring for the kids and I can't recommend her highly enough!
