the last week-EditJ.Austin & Co. has some serious credibility issues when it comes to treating their walk in customers fairly or even honestly. Not everyone knows as much about diamonds than your typical dealer ;and for this reason it's important to be totally open about how they arrive at the price they pay. These folks will not tell you much about anything; and this is true concerning what they pay you for US silver coins. The usual pitch is that your coins are in poor condition so they offer you less than junk silver ,claiming the cost of melting . .. They also tell you there's no demand for US coins . What they fail to tell you is that there's a huge demand for US silver coins especially Peace and Morgans from all the gift stores all over the country. Gift stores polish up the coins and sell them for up to a hundred dollars each in some cases. There's also a huge demand for American coins overseas. And here's where these characters at J.Austin & Co. stick it to you.They collect as many coins as possible ,underpaying [lo balling] getting them for practically nothing and then shipping them to China or Latin America where they collect huge sums for each bag they ship. This is what they did to me with both a diamond ring and with US silver coin set. This Business is not BBB AccreditedJ. Worth going to.

I went there based on the reviews posted on this site. I am so glad I did. I got a better value for what I was selling than anyone else had offered. The dogs are entertaining and the husband and wife are courteous , friendly and genuinely great to deal with. I definitely would suggest this to be the only place to go!

They are nice folks. When I sold my coins they showed me how they determined the value after I asked them to explain. Glad they are in town. The Chihuahuas were very cute, but a bit loud.

I drove from Yreka to sell coins here. I have been collecting coins for years and know what to expect on payouts. These guys are honest like the reviews say. The only issue I have is the sale price on Morgans here. They won't budge on the prices claiming they have buyers for the coins. Other than that, its a clean shop and friendly.

I was referred here by a friend of mine that had already done the footwork when she sold her Estate. She said these guys were the best in terms of service and payout. It is a bit of a drive from Medford, but there is where I will be doing business from now on.

Customer service is par excellence and second to non! Their bid ask prices are updated daily and extremely fair. Would highly recommend J. Austin & Co. for all your jewelry needs - if they can't do it, they'll refer to a reputable local vendor who can.

These guys are the best. I shopped around to sell my diamond and landed here. Andrea was very kind as well.

Easiest transaction I've ever experienced. The boss wasn't at all as scary as I first thought, and I feel like I made a new friend that I can trust what he says w/o BS. Thanks, J.Austin & Co. for making my visit a worthwhile trip, and I look forward to coming back again soon.

I brought a few Morgan silver dollars in the other day. After traveling around the valley trying to get the best price I found that J. Austin & Co. Paid the best. The people who work there are friendly. They are not pushy and they enjoy talking with you. I will be coming back to do business with them. The shop is beautiful with antique furnishings.
