Like the reviewer above, I am suprised at some of the comments I've read. I've been going to Athena's for years, even after moving several times to various locations all over NYC. Through the years, Athena has really upgraded the salon, including a total salon renovation and upheaval of old practices and services. $19 for a manicure and pedicure, free massages and helpful staff? What is everyone complaining about? This is the most sanitary salon I've been to. Now they keep their tools in sanitary packets that go under special UV light AND get submersed in antiseptic liquid for EVERY client. I've been to some higher end salons in Manhattan and similar salons to Athena's. There's a reason why people keep going back to Athena's!! If you're expecting to be treated like royalty and have someone at your beck and call for every single moment, then go to a salon that's overpriced and where you'll probably pay for the services you can receive at Athena's for free. You really get every single penny's worth at Athena's!!

ATHENA IS A TERRIBLE BUSINESS PERSON, NASTY, ALL HER EMPLOYEES ARE PETRIFIED OF HER, SHE IS HORRIBLE TO ALL THE CUSTOMERS!!!!! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AND GIVE HER A PENNEY OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!!
