Atascadero Mutual Water Company (AMWC) serves more than 30,000 residents in Atascadero, Calif. It is comprised of over 250 miles of pipeline ranging in size from 4 inches to 24 inches with nearly five storage tanks that range in size from 120,000 gallons to 5 million gallons. The company features nearly 15 active wells, approximately 5 booster stations, more than 5 treatment buildings and over 15 pressure reducing stations located throughout the system. In addition, Atascadero Mutual Water Company has nearly 10,000 customer service connections, approximately 1,900 valves and more than 1,700 fire hydrants. The company obtains all of its water from two distinct, yet interrelated groundwater sources, including the Salinas River Underflow and the Atascadero Sub-basin of the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin.
