The Athens-Clarke County Library is a part of the Athens Regional Library System, which is comprised of eleven library branches and resource centers. The library provides informational, educational and recreational services for the citizens of Athens-Clarke, Franklin, Madison, Oconee, and Oglethorpe counties in Georgia. It conducts classes in various computer programs, including computer applications, Word, Word Excel and access to Internet. The Athens Regional Library System provides library cards at free of cost to all the residents of Georgia. In addition, the main library offers passport services, voter registration, and meeting rooms for various types of educational, informational, cultural and civic programs, such as lectures, exhibits, panel discussions, informal seminars and film presentations. The Athens-Clarke County Library is located in Athens, GA. It also houses an office of the Georgia Libraries for Accessible Statewide Services (GLASS) which supports accessible library services in Georgia by promoting the use of assistive technology and by providing accessible reading materials to those who, due to a disability, are unable to read standard print. Provided by YPmobileThis library is a little old and needs some renovations such as new carpet and computers. The staff is friendly and helpful.
