Provided by YP.comI have been Dr. Cook's patient for almost ten years, and he is a wonderful doctor. I never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes to be called back for my appointments, and I feel that he always performs a thorough evaluation of my health and history. The entire office staff is kind and compassionate. Last fall I happened to develop pneumonia. Dr. Cook prescribed medications that had me feeling better in a few days, and he even offered to let me borrow a nebulizer to take home for the weekend in case the inhaler he prescribed did not relieve my symptoms. If you are looking for a thorough, knowledgeable physician give his office a call.

Provided by YP.comThis was a horrible experience. Jonathan was rude and condescending. He would not listen to me or my concerns. He called me, "stupid," six times. Then he justified it by saying, "I'm not being mean, I am just being honest." He never apologized. I told him, right then, that I was no longer his patient. He then called all of my doctors and tried to get them to send them information about me and give advice, on my behalf. Luckily, my doctors are smarter than that. When I went in to get everything in writing, his staff was defensive and did everything they could to justify that just because I said, clearly, that I wasn't his patient, that it was still ok for them to give and receive information. It is not. It is illegal. This is not how a real doctor behaves. He claims to be a Christian but his fruits show otherwise.

Provided by YP.comI was suffering from bronchitis, and it got to the point where I needed to see a doctor. As a recent grad, I didn't have a doctor in Athens. I called Dr. Cook's office and they scheduled my appointment for the same day! A few minutes later, someone else moved their appointment. The office called me to see if I wanted their appointment time, and I said yes. So, 30 minutes after my first call to Dr. Cook's office, I was signing in to be seen.
Once I was in the exam room, I waited for Dr. Cook to come in. I only had to wait about 3 minutes. Dr. Cook's manner and attitude are outstanding, and he evaluated my condition and my whole health carefully. He explained everything, listened to me, and did some tests and a nebulizer treatment right there. While all these took place, Dr. Cook stayed right in the exam room, and he did my paperwork and visit notes on the computer there. I'm used to doctors making me wait for 15 minutes, seeing me for 3 minutes, then leaving. Dr. Cook is different; he deals with each patient until all the tests are done and all the questions are answered.
Even with the tests and nebulizer, my bill was very reasonable. I won't post the dollar-amount since every patient's visit is different, but Dr. Cook definitely understands the patient's perspective and desire for access to quality health care.
Dr. Cook is not an MD, he is a DO (doctor of osteopathy). I have heard that this approach is typical of DOs, so if you haven't been to one before I highly recommend it. You can rest assured that a DO, particularly Dr. Cook, is well-trained and eminently qualified.
In summary, Dr. Cook is intelligent, thorough, and compassionate. Every part of a visit to his office reflects this, and I will continue to recommend Dr. Cook and be a patient for as long as I live in the area. I have had some very good physicians, but Dr. Cook is the best. He'll take good care of you and your family.

Provided by YP.comI am 38 years old, and Dr. Cook is among the top two doctors I have ever seen as a patient. When I first met him, I was a bit scared because, well, I'm ALWAYS scared when seeing a doctor for the first time! Dr. Cook is excellent though, and he and his staff took down a thorough medical history, seemed to care about my problems, and most of all, were quite capable of giving me the medical attention I needed to get better. Dr. Cook seems interested in helping people to be healthy, whatever it takes... I like that about him. He will shoot straight with you. At one point, I kept forgetting my medicines, and he had a serious talk with me about the consequences. It was the wakeup call I needed. He even helped me by giving me an extra pillbox and making suggestions for how not to forget my medicines. I have been seeing him for around 5 years now. Excellent medical care.
