This is certainly "NOT" typical of a 50s diner. It is a snob's paradise and if your intent is to compete with your neighbor, display your wardrobe, or indulge in nonsensical, hypothetical, theoretical, conversation then you will be completely satisfied here. The cuisine is not spectacular and does not make up for the environment. Fifties diners catered to the work-a-day lunch bucket crowd, the student with shallow pockets and the business man struggeling to make both ends meet. I was very disappointed. :(
