Athens High School is an educational institution that provides a variety of college preparatory, dual-credit and correspondence courses to students in grades nine through 12. Located in Athens, Texas, the school also offers programs in business education, agricultural mechanics, criminal justice, transportation systems, horticulture, and family and consumer science. In addition, it conducts classes in feature writing, computer applications and poetry interpretation. The school operates various clubs and organizations, such as the Future Business Leaders of America, the National Honor Society, art, band, theater, speech, debate, key and student council. Its athletic division offers sports activities, including baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and track and field. Athens High School features a library, gymnasium and cafeteria. The school is a part of the Athens Independent School District.
