Dr. Kensinger is a multi-organ, abdominal transplant surgeon. He earned his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate studies in chemistry at Washington and Lee University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and his abdominal transplant surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. In addition, he completed a critical care fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Kensinger has received numerous teaching and clinical awards throughout his training. Dr. Kensinger is board certified in general surgery, as well as surgical critical care. Dr. Kensinger specializes in liver, kidney and pancreas transplant, as well as living donor nephrectomy, bilateral laparoscopic native nephrectomy, and adult polycystic kidney disease. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Transplantation and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. Dr. Kensinger welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
