Fernbank Elementary, founded in 1957, is a school that serves more than 650 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. The school offers instruction in foreign language, art, music and physical education. It provides classes in several subjects, such as math, social studies, language arts and science. Fernbank Elementary also offers guidance counseling, special education, medical care and food services. The school manages a parent-teacher association that works for student welfare, as well as publishes a quarterly newsletter, Falcon s Nest. In addition, it operates a library media center, computer laboratory and school council. Fernbank Elementary is a part of the DeKalb County School System.
