The original Taco Mac, this location has been serving the Virginia Highland community since it all started back in 1979 when a couple of guys from Buffalo, NY made a pit stop in Atlanta on their way to Florida. After touring the city and enjoying the weather they decided to stay. All they had was a little cash and a great idea to bring a popular northern cuisine to the sunny South. Now they just needed a location to get the ball rolling. It didn't take long to find the perfect spot, a quaint little taco shack on the corner of Virginia and North Highland Avenues - now known as Virginia-Highland. It is a quiet neighborhood, tucked away like a well-kept secret, and one that welcomed Taco Mac as the neighborhood hangout. "Taco" may be in the name but this place is known for its wings. And, Taco Mac has the best blue cheese dressing in Atlanta to go with those delicious wings. Good variety for the family and a wide beer selection. Also great spot to watch any sports on TV. This location shows its age, however. Tables, chairs, bathrooms and floor are pretty gross.

SLOW SERVICE!

the service is extremely slow at this, the original Taco Mac! It is small and noisy but the amazing thing is, there appears to be plenty of wait staff to accomadate however you are looking at 5-10 minutes before you are served a drink after sitting down!
