If I could give less than one star, I would. I am so irritated and disappointed that I spent $199 at this place. I went for the "free exam" coupon I found online. I needed to establish a new vet for my dogs Beau and Lady since we've moved to Atlanta from Gainesville. I loved our vet and groomer back home but the drive is horrific. I initially felt some apprehension (should have listened to my gut) when setting the appointment. I ignored my body's warning signs and booked an afternoon appointment. I took our third dog, Coco, in for his grooming at another facility and realized that I had grossly miscalculated how long it would take to get him home and the other two to VCA so I called to let them (VCA) know that I might need to reschedule. They told me it would take about 30-45 minutes for the visit so should work out okay for me to still get to Coco in time to pick him up. It took longer than 30 minutes just to get the paperwork filled out. I then waited for what I think was another hour. I finally got put in a room. A vet tech came in and got Lady's temp, couldn't get Beau's, and then went to do paperwork on my dogs. I waited awhile and then went in search of help because I was getting antsy about picking up Coco. The one nice person in the place (whose name I didn't manage to get) was very apologetic. Anyway, finally a vet showed up. Didn't get her name. She has shoulder-length reddish curly hair and a very abrupt manner. She explained that it was actually my fault (not her exact words but her meaning was clear) because I hadn't provided enough background history and they were having to check on what kinds of vaccines my dogs needed. I explained that I only wanted the rabies vaccine for today and that I was interested in flea prevention. She said, "Oh, okay, well we didn't know that." She left the room, never to be seen or heard from again. SHE DID NOT EXAMINE MY DOGS AT ALL. NO VET EXAM. Michele, the vet tech, came back in and told me how much the Bravecto and rabies vaccines would cost ($72 for the Bravecto per dog, about $4 more per dog than I expected) and a whopping $26 per dog for JUST the rabies vaccine (which I used to get for $10 per dog back home if I went to the Humane Society, or $16 from my former vet). I was shocked. I ended up getting the Bravecto and the grossly over-priced rabies vaccines because I wasn't thrilled about trying to navigate to another vet with both dogs in tow AND I still hadn't gotten back to pick up Coco (by this time, he'd been done with his grooming for almost three hours). I spent way too much time there and STILL DID NOT GET AN EXAM FOR MY DOGS. The vet literally spoke to me about the wait and that was IT. She never touched my dogs or looked at them.

Here's my take: no matter how fancy you think you are or how great a vet you consider yourself to be, if you don't have simple people skills and at least a modicum of courtesy on hand, you're just not all that. I wish that I had researched better. I wish that I had found out there are other more viable options. I wish I had gone anywhere but to this place. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt patronized. They didn't like it, I'm sure, that I didn't want to get the full range of vaccines or the heartworm treatment. I'm getting it, by the way, but not there. I'll never go back and I would suggest that unless you have money to burn and you truly don't care how you are treated, you find somewhere - anywhere- else to take your pet. I feel they price-shamed me when I questioned the price of the rabies vaccine. I think they decided I was annoying because I questioned how long it was taking to be seen (and while the vet did offer for me to go get Coco and come back, she left before I could even answer her, I thought she was coming back and she never did. By the time Michele the vet nurse or tech came back, I just wanted to get the flea med and rabies over with and not have wasted that entire time only to still have to come back later ).

Absolutely love this vet-they treat your pets very well, do not suggest unnecessary tests and help you get to a good treatment plan! Also, they are 24 hours so in an emergency it is great that they have your pets' full history!

We have taken our dog to VCA Pets Are People Too for 3 years. The staff and doctors are very knowledgeable and take great care of the pets. VCA seems to be more expensive than other area vet hospitals.

Although not your mom and pop veterinarian and no one will likely remember you or your pet each year, they've done a good job with several of my pets and are open late and weekends, which is a real bonus!

DO NOT go to this clinic. I've seen pets handled roughly by irritated technicians, I've heard technicians/veterinarians speak hatefully of their clients, and the "clique" attitude between coworkers is atrocious. There is a lot of work place bullying and gossip. The prices are steep as well. It's all about money for them. Recently they started pushing for a physical exam if you haven't been in within the past month, instead of having an exam semi-annually or annually, which adds on to the cost of whatever you originally went in for. If it's busy, expect to wait at least an hour to be seen, even if you had an appointment. I've seen clients wait in rooms at least two hours before their visit was over. Don't waste your time here.

It was a very hurtful experience and I am never going back. I rushed my dog to the hospital with $450 in cash. Immediately my dog was taken to the back and a pink paper was brought out asking for $500. I was then taken to a room where I was presented with a quote for $703.00 to run tests and that was too much money. I asked the doctor for an antibiotic and something for my dogs pain and she refused instead i was asked to sign a paper stating that I was refusing treatment for my dog when I wasnt. The doctor refused to work with me with the money that I had which left me no choice but to go home with dog. I was still charged $147.00 for the visit even though I received no treatment and the doctor never came back into the room. My dog died. A simple antibiotic would have helped my dog live a little longer to make it to her vet. She was exhausted from staying up from the pain. It seems as though this place is only for large profit and does not have a heart to care for your sick animal if they cannot make the large profit. $400 couldnt get an antibiotic? My dog died in the middle of my livingroom floor. All I keep seeing is her eyes stretching at me like she thought she was being a bad dog for leaving me. Then she took her last breath, She was 8 years old. Lived with me her whole life and the average life span of a lab is 10 - 14 years. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE...drive somewhere else...They will rip you off

This is the most expensive vet I have ever been to in over 10 years. $450 for yearly shots.
