Several years ago my husban turned me onto this place the White House Sub Shop(he's been a fan for 20+ years before me)& the White House special sub, it was amazing. At first sight you could see & feel the history of the 50+ years & therefore the take a number & wait (15 to 60 minutes or more )was worth it, but as time goes by you are a little less interested in standing & waiting to have your # called, so we started to try our luck at calling our order in ahead of time. The problem with this is that you almost never get threw, usually we can make the 35 minute drive before we will get the phone to actually ring instead of a busy signal, but once in awhile you might get lucky & actually get to place an order. Now comes my real problem, the last couple of times that we called & got through we were asked to please hold, so sure why not, well I'll tell you why not - because they put the phone down, not on hold & they just leave you there for 10, 15 or 20 minutes or more (this way they don't have to hear it ringing off the hook non-stop) now at this point you have a fifty / fifty shot as to whether or not they actually take your order or just hang up on you. And this isn't right.

I understand that they are very busy, well known & liked, but there is no good reason for the newer younger staff to do what they are doing by puting people on hold for 30 minutes, hanging up on them etc., my order would of taken less than 15 seconds - as a regular customer (12 to 15 times per year at least & yet not local) with 30 + years as a patron my husban can't figure out why they don't have 1 person assigned to taking phone orders, instead of making the guys who build the subs responable for phone orders.

I will no longer patronize or recommend this shop to anyone. The staff makes you feel like your bothering them. Calling to place any order means that you will be put down and left there, and then hung-up on after 10 to 30 minutes. Also when you go there you will inevidably wait 20 to 30 minutes to place an order and then you might wait another 5 to 15 minutes for it to be made. You are treated like the number you have to take in order to place an order. For the last 10 years I felt that their subs were worth the wait and discortious treatment but not any more, they have gone to far.

everytime i visit atlantic city which is very often i first go here to get my cheeseburger sub i just love it!!!! i order this and tell my husband to order the italian sub so i can have some of his too. I think this place is dynomite and wish i could order this from where i leave in beltsville, md and have it delivered.... I would recommended this shop to everyone!!!!

This could easily be the best hoagie sub shop around. ALMOST everything is perfect. The ONE and ONLY thing that MUST change is the TUNA HOAGIE.



I do NOT eat meat, so I am a bit limited (Years ago, when I did eat meat, there was no question---the White House Sub was the BEST AROUND---bread, meats, order of construction, seasonings, etc---THE BEST.



Instead of filling the hoagie with a delicious tuna salad, these folks---FOR YEARS----have been filling the hoagies with flaked tuna. NOT GOOD!!



Get it right guys!!! Use tuna salad, and have a PERFECT SCORE

this is the absolute best sub shop you will ever go to anywhere. The cheese steak is unreal and the Italian hero is great. They make all there own Hero bread fresh 5-6 times a day. Anytime I go into AC, as I wake up on Sunday morning I dont even eat breakfast, I wait till lunch time to get one of these on the way home. If there is a line, trust me its worth waiting for.

I stop here any time I'm in the area. Just about every sub is great. The key is the fresh bread that they use.
