This is a great way to spend an afternoon with your kids. I recommend you call ahead and schedule a time with the owner, that way you don't run into too many people out picking. We went just last week, and picked thorn-less black berries. They were sweet and delicious and very well priced. In the fall they also have Kiwi picking (bet you didn't know you could do that in Sacramento!), pumpkins and raspberries. There are also the cutest little wooden baskets for the kids to wear around their waste while picking. Such a fun afternoon!!

We just visited for the first time & we're very happy with the delicious blackberries. We went mid July & they have thornless blackberries right now. The price was great too at $3.50/lb for U pick.

What a charming farm with yummy produce! The prices at Amber Oaks are very fair, especially for the quality of the fruits and veggies. Our favorite time to go to Amber Oaks is in July when we can pick raspberries, blackberries & golden raspberries. Rhonda is the gal who answers the phone and schedules appointments for U-Pick.
