My full system was replaced after the original one lasted for 24 years. The service personnel recommended a full replacement to bring up the efficiency rating and make it more efficient. The installers did a great job in getting the units into the attic through the whole house vent fan area and building an additional catwalk to move the equipment around. The installers were proficient in the work they had to accomplish. Maki has been in business in Auburn, CA. for a long time and is the best company to do business with. They back up their work and continue to provide assistance if necessary, unlike many of the other companies that tend to underbid them. I highly recommend that this company be used by anyone needing this type of work.

Last year, as fairly new home owners, we needed to have our heating/air conditioning unit serviced, so our friends referred us to Maki Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. The fellow that came out was very knowledgeable and told us the unit (which apparently had been replaced by the previous owner since it wasn’t as old as the home) was too large for the size of our home and wasn’t working efficiently (it was wasting energy). We told him the master bedroom, which was the closest room to the heating unit, was always too hot whereas the other rooms never felt warm enough. He said the system would need an additional return air duct (because the one was undersized) and more vents throughout the house (there weren’t any in the kitchen/dining area and only one in the living room), and the ducting in the crawl space would need to be redesigned (to balance the air flow and offer more comfort).

We called Maki to set up an appointment for an estimate. We were delightfully surprised with how reasonable the estimate was (thank you, Randy!), especially considering the complexity of the job. The only “problem” was that the only place that was feasible to put this additional large duct was in our daughter’s already small closet. Not thinking there was any other solution, we accepted the proposal and set a date for the work to be done. In the meantime, we were sort of agonizing over the idea of putting the duct in her closet and started thinking about any other possibilities. We did come up with a sort of off-the-wall idea, which we ran by the consultant (Michael Antisdel) who did the estimate on our job, and he said he would determine when they came out if it would in fact work. The idea did work (barely!), but it definitely gave the crew doing the job a real challenge to accomplish it. We are extremely grateful to Steve, San & Michael for their efforts and expertise. Thank you so very much!!!

So all this, just to tell you (everyone!) that we highly recommend Maki Heating & Air in Auburn, CA. They are very professional, knowledgeable, highly skilled and the most wonderful and friendly people. We are very satisfied customers! Again, we thank you for everything!
