Provided by YP.comthanks to the hard work and determination of the family that has kept the spirit of the Village Inn alive during such a hardship, this wonderful restaurant has reopened with a whole new look and a whole new attitude. The new design of the place is very attractive to many parties. Whether your'e a family of four , on a first date , or goin to the bar with a couples of friends, this place has a variety of seating arrangements and ambiances to choose from. Aside from the atmosphere, the food is terrific and so is the beer. The new menu offers an assortment of culinary choices ,so if one finds thenselves at this seafood restaurant and does'nt like seafood, they might try the prime rib(delicious) or one of the amazing pasta dishes the Village Inn offers. Of corse their seafood is undeniably some of the best on the East-side, and with options like loster rolls to shrimp cocktails, crabcakes and exceptional fresh fish( not from the Androscoggin i asure you) one wont be dissapionted. And the beer on tap is another treat in itself. Maine is known for producing some of the finest micro-brews in all of the world and the Village Inn carries most of them on tap. From the great taste of the seasonal ale, to the local brew, its hard to find a domestic skunk beer on tap at this beautiful bar/lounge. Being the newly remodeled resaurant in town and having the history of the original, this multi-generation family owned and operated establishment will not leave a customer dissatisfied and certainly will be a staple in this community for the future.

Provided by YP.comWas so excited that The Village Inn was reopening that I asked my family to take me there for my birthday!
I expected some "growing" pains but the experience was not good. Upon entering we were not greeted although three females were at the register. They each looked at the other as if to ask "who's taking them". When they had silently figured that out, one of them showed us to our table and walked away. The wait person had on shorts, and a t-shirt and her hair was frazzled looking as if she had been working very hard all day. (the restaurant was not at all busy) She had a party of eight in our room, and us (a party of 4). The other party was also celebrating a birthday. The waitress was very slow for not being busy which I can put off to the aforementioned growing pains. Unfortunately, in addition she was not very attentive. The dinner rolls were served in a basket with a little dish of butter, but no plates on which to place our rolls. One of our party spilled a drink and we were not offered any assistance, because she was having difficulty splitting up the checks for the party of eight. So for half of our meal we were trying to eat without napkins, having used them to try to mop up the spill. Our meals, once they arrived were not what I remembered from before the unfortunate fire. The Seafood Alfredo was tasty, but the shrimp were obviously frozen, not fresh, and the sauce was runny and over buttered. The waitress never offered refills on beverages, and when she replaced the spilled drink she simply plopped it on the table on her way by. The spill was never properly cleaned up and replacement napkins had to be requested. Two of our party ordered the Prime Rib, one with a baked potato, which was served in a very small bowl usually utilized for a condiment. The potato had to be transferred to the plate after making room by eating some of the meat because you just couldn't possibly eat it the way it was served. Nothing was suggested when we ordered, no salad, app, cocktails and the waitress showed no enthusiasm for her job at all! Needless to say we did not order desert. The food was good but not as good as it was previously but the service was very poor! If they are going to succeed they need to bring it up a couple of notches. I will give it another try in a few months but if it hasn't improved I'll never return!
