Provided by YP.comMy family and I have been going to this bank for over seven years, even prior to it joining the United Financial Credit Union chain. All of the members in my family as well as our friends had switched from this bank due to some of their unprofessional and incompetent business practices. My family urged me to switch but I as a naive person chose to stay believing that perhaps things would change. But after countless problem after problem I am finally fed up and in the market for a new bank.
Some of the problems I had with this bank:
I: They were constantly hiring someone new, and this person is always training. More often than not this slowed them down severely, and made them prone to making mistakes.
II: 75% of the time when I call their phone number, after making it through the robotic operator, and reaching a real operator, when they transfer me I am disconnected. If they do succeed in transferring me 95% of the time I get their voicemail. 50% of the time they forget to call me back.
III: Debit cards at this bank last about two months, I do not know who makes these but they are crappy. The magnetic strips were scratched or unreadable very quickly. However right before I closed my account they switched, and got a much better card manufacturer.
IV: Whenever I was short on cash the tellers often say rude inappropriate things, that to me made me feel as if they were judging me for the lack of funds in my account.
V: One time I requested a new debit card, and they said they would have it in 7 days. After 10 days I called and explained I had not received my card. She said sometimes it can take two weeks. After two weeks, I called the bank and asked them what was going on again, they said were not sure but we will look into it. After another week I called the main line and asked for a manager who told me the card was never even ordered. I asked if they would send me one out priority mail, they said no and told me I would have to wait seven days. I received my card 1 month after I ordered it. After my card lasted a measly two weeks because the girl at McDonalds dropped it on the floor and scratched it (She did apologize.) I requested another one. This time explaining to the bank employee everything that had happened in the prior situation, she said this would not happen again. But low and behold the company sent me the pin but not the card. I never received the card and had to wait 3 weeks for my next card.
VI: I linked my account to a line of credit to protect myself from overdraft fees, and more then three times there was some sort of computer error that did not pull the funds from the line of credit, and charged me overdraft anyway, I had to call and make it through there system 6 times before I was able to get it straightened out.
VII: They have an email address that you can use through your account, but I had to call them anyway because after a week they had still not checked their email.
VIII: Their is no way to protect yourself from overdraft fees, they said the credit card terminal is so advanced that the user of said credit card terminal can force through their overdraft protection anyway.
IX: Their business hours will really make you feel like their is a definite reason for the saying, "A Bankers Hours". I would not have stayed here so long if it was not for the innovation of the atm. I never have to see these people, and even if I wanted to there not open anyway.
X: There website for online banking is prone to error, and more often than not unresponsive. But the three passwords did make me feel a lot safer while I was logging in. They used to have an onscreen keyboard for the third pass word, that made me feel especially safe in regards to key loggers but they got rid of it.
