Provided by YP.comI made the mistake of enrolling my children at LSE. I had hoped that the school would provide some much needed structure (there is not any quality structure at other APS schools). My youngest, who had a thirst for learning - lost it. My kids would go to school and teachers would hand out grades for simple things - like showing up for class. I had a kid that was passing Algebra at LSE - but this same kid could not help another sibling who was doing plain old math at another school. Students in APUSH could barely write a proper sentence but were passing with A's and B's. When you asked the teacher why - the teacher would complain that giving the student a failing grade was negative reinforcement. And that teacher would imply that you were an un-supportive parent for questioning the grades. In one week that same teacher gave the student multiple grades for "participation" in order to boost the grade from lower to higher. Parents are unable to check on students and the teacher turn-over rate is hard to keep up with. Students are not provided with quality students counseling services and have been misinformed about college expectations. Students from this school have been found threatening one another over social media networks - posting bad photos of themselves in the bathrooms - and you can find students smoking on the school property. Students are pushed to the next grade level - the building has been in disrepair forever - and contact between the school and parents is difficult. For instance, just this year the school did not even inform parents that the first day of school would be delayed until the week before school started - and the email went out only the Friday before - after 4pm. Schedules for the students for the new year have not been completed and parents have NO IDEA which teachers will be there for the nest year. You don't find out until you send an email to the school and it bounces back. The front office person is rude - most of the time. You never know what this school will look like from one day to the next and the quality of education students are getting here is far below par. Parent's please avoid this school at all costs. This is the worst place you could put your children.
