We hired this company to come and jump our 2002 Chevy 15 passenger Express Van. They had to pull out our van from the garage approx. 10-15 ft. for a cost of $75. They charged $300 to show up. They hung up on us multiple times on the phone while discussing charges. They threatened to take our vehicle if we did not pay CASH within 5 minutes. Verbal threats were stated from John (a.k.a. Johnny). An Elgin police officer showed up to the scene and was surprised at the cost-though there was nothing he could do about it. He suggested we contact the Better Business Bureau which we will do. There was also a $30 "convenience" fee to pay with the credit card.

Call someone else for your towing needs. Call ANYONE else. These people will KNOWINGLY overcharge for their services. I just paid $200 for a simple pull-out that took 1 minute. When I called to ask why it was so much money, the person on the phone mumbled something about it being wet and hard to do. I have called a number of other local businesses and the going charge is $60-$100. When I called back and confronted them with this information, the guy basically told me that A Affordable Towing and its little dispatch companies (including A-1 Discount Towing) overcharge because people are not educated about prices and they can get away with it and then hung up the phone because he was scared of me. This is the first negative review I have ever posted about any company ever. Seriously.
