December 2009 took my daughter's 2009 Accent in for 20K checkup. Service person sold us the premium oil change service that covered everything inlcuding rotation of tires. Daughter took car back in MArch and asked for regular oil change. Service person told her she needed itres rotated and air cleaner replaced which had already been done in Decemeber. In addition they told my daughter her rear brakes and rotors were shot and needed immediate repair. She called me, explained the tire rotation and such and I was livid. Told her to pay for what was done but do not do the brakes. Took car to Car X in Naperville where complete inspection showed enitre brake system was in perfect condition! Did not even need pads! I thought this kind of scamming by service people was long gone and especially not at a dealership. Nice job guys trying to take advantage of a young lady and rip her off! We will NEVER utilize the Gartner service department or dealership and will highly recommend same to all we know.
