Inspections Austin Style: pull in, sign up on the list on top of the oil barrel by the inspection bay and then have a seat at the picnic table under the oak tree to wait for your inspection (which will happen fast even if there are 3-4 cars ahead of you). If you're lucky, the border collie will be there to catch the balls that you throw. If not, your fellow inspectees are usually very congenial. The inspections are great: no one tells you that your windshield wipers are bad unless they're bad but if something's really wrong, they're going to catch it before it hurts you. They've installed blinker bulbs, taillight bulbs and license plate bulbs for me gratis more than once (although they won't refuse a fair tip given in appreciation of their services). I actually LIKE going to get my car inspected when I go to Alan's.
