New Management and Owner

Craving ice cream and hit this local Baskin Robbins. The ice cream was delicious (as usual) and apparently the issues in past with the stingy owner have been resolved. Met the new owner who took over this summer, he was pleasant and helpful. Also took home an ice cream cake and loved it.

Not your money's worth at this store

I love Baskin Robbins ice cream, but DO NOT go to this Brodie/Slaughter location. The owner there is extremely stingy and a penny-pincher. The ice cream scoops at this particular store are currently about half the size as those at other locations. I have seen over the last year in particular that the scoops were getting smaller and smaller while the price is not.

Today I went in to use my birthday coupon for a free scoop. I wanted to upgrade to 2 scoops, and expected to pay the difference. However, the kids working in there said that they would get in trouble. Many other businesses do this, I don't understand why they can't. There is no manager to speak with and the owner is never there to complain in person. It's franchised, so corporate won't do anything.

Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other Baskin Robbins locations. You will not get your money's worth at the Brodie/Slaughter store.

Solid breakfast and lunch joint

My boyfriend and I stopped here for breakfast around 10:30am on a Saturday and they were moderately busy. By the time we left, there was a line from the counter to the door.

I had read some good reviews from Yelp on this place so I decided to try it out. Personally, I wasn't that wowed, but my boyfriend really liked it.

I have a restricted diet and asked if I could just have an extra egg in my breakfast rather than the other stuff, and the girl said that they couldn't do that. My request actually made the meal cheaper rather than more expensive for them to produce with me paying the same price, and I wasn't asking them to go out of their way to add something completely different. So I tell the girl to just leave my sides off, and she asks my boyfriend if he wants them instead. I didn't hear any of that, so when my plate comes out, I've got the sides on it anyway.

I'm still giving this place what I would consider a decent rating because everyone there was nice (though not very accommodating by my first experience). The place had a nice ambiance and was clean. I ordered the ham omelette which was OK, but nothing spectacular. For the same money, you can get a much bigger omelette from other places like Kerbey or Magnolia and with two sides. The toast was a very nice thick sliced bread and came out with an assortment of mini jam jars. The drip coffee wasn't that good, but it wasn't any worse than Kerbey's or Magnolia's either. Why can't anyone in this town make decent drip coffee?
