Simply stated, Casa Chapala offers the best Mexican food in town. We Austinites are privileged to have so many fine choices when it comes to dining out and there is a wide range of style and quality. What sets Case Chapala apart is the easy transition between simple, familiar Tex-Mex and four-star quality interior style cuisine, and all under one roof. Chef Lupe Barragan has enhanced recipes handed down from his family to offer dishes that are unique but comfortingly familiar. My wife and I have been regular customers for over five years. When we go to Casa Chapala we feel like we just dropped by our favorite friend?s or favorite relative?s home for dinner. The restaurant is festive but relaxing. Fresh salsa is made to order right at your tableside. Chef Barragan makes some of the best mole? sauces I have ever tasted. My favorite dish is the ?Mole Ranchero?, which has a light mole? sauce perfectly enhancing the dish?s flavor. Lastly, I must rave about the margaritas.
