Central Texas Palliative Care Associates
4107 Spicewood Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78759
In 1979 as the hospice movement was getting started in this country, a group of citizens concerned that virtually 100% of the deaths in Austin were happening in hospitals, approached a young oncologist, Dr. John Sandbach, about the feasibility of starting a hospice here.
Research was done, a board was formed, and Hospice Austin served its first patient in 1980. While many for-profit national hospice chains have opened in the area in the last few years, Hospice Austin continues its tradition of not-for-profit hospice care.

Provided by YP.comHospice Austin is an amazing organization that provided my husband and me so much support at the end of my husband s life. My husband was only 52 when he got sick, so we hadn t spent much time thinking of or talking about hospice care. So many decisions at the end of your life; we were both so grateful for the support and assistance provided to us by Hospice Austin. Their support didn t end when my husband died. They offered me grief counseling. There is no way I could have every supported my husband, and allowed him to die at home, as was his wish, without the support of the amazing team of doctors, nurses, LVNs, chaplains, social workers and volunteers. I will never be able to repay Hospice Austin for all they ve done for me. Forever grateful..........

Provided by YP.comHospice Austin was so much help to me and my family. My husband was diagnosed with ananplastic thyroid cancer at the age of 57. There is no cure for this disease. Thanks to Hospice Austin my husband was able to die comfortably, at peace, and with dignity in our home with his family, friends and beloved dog. This would not have been possible without all the the great support we received from Hospice Austin. I think their many years of experience is what made the difference.
Not only did they help with my husband's physical and spiritual pain; but they helped me and my family with our emotional pain. Hospice Austin staff was always available to night and day. I took advantage of two of their many grief programs that enhanced my ability to grieve appropriately.
I never felt alone when Hospice Austin was supporting me. I recommend Hospice Austin to anyone that may not be around in the next six months. Not only does the patient receive wonderful care; the family and caregivers are also supported and assisted through a most difficult time.
