I took my 17 year old best friend and devoted cat to Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin after he crashed from taking Insulin. I thought for sure he was going to die. We had been through another crash before but it was nothing as frightening as this one. Within two minutes he was taken to the back and emergency care was begun. The doctor came out within 15 minutes saying he would have surely died if I had not gotten there when I did and Casper was now responding well to treatment. After explaining further care needed, we discussed fees.

Emergency care for pets (the same for humans) is expensive and most people do not have the cash up front in these kinds of situations. If you have animals, it is a good idea to think about possible health emergencies and make some kind of plan if a crisis should occur. There are several pet insurance policies and credit cards that can help with these kinds of emergencies. My heart truly goes out to those people commenting in the earlier reviews. I spent over $2000.00 at the emergency hospital in New Braunfels and an additional $2500 for continued hospitalization for my 11 Year old cat who then needed to be euthanized due to cancer. I do not have a lot of money and drive an 11 year old car. My money goes to food, housing, bills, and my animals. Sometimes we have to make hard choices as pet owners.

I just want to thank the staff at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin for their compassion, expertise, and professionalism when taking care of my good buddy and would highly recommend them to anyone needing emergency pet care. Thanks again.
