Waiting and Waiting

I began speaking with sales people about getting 2 shelves to go in two of my bathrooms on 8/24/07. On Oct 1, 2007 I spoke with another sales person, since the first sales person had left. He re-took all of my information and told me he would put in the order and I should get the cabinets in 3 weeks. On 11/12/07 I called to check on the delivery status of my cabinets. No one had any records of me calling, placing an order, or even speaking to anyone in the company. Both of the sales people I spoke with previously were no longer with the company. At this point I was told that for all private orders, the customer must pay 50% up front. This was the first time I had heard of this policy.



My options were to find all the information on my cabinets (again), then physically bring in a door or drawer, and then wait another 3 weeks for my cabinets to arrive. Of course, that will put the delivery date just before Christmas (counting the holiday breaks).



I got no call from the company telling me my account was being switched to a new salesperson. I received no call telling me that the order needed a 50% down payment.



Apparently, the salesperson just spoke to me and did not write down anything in his ledger or put in any information into his computer.



If you need to get any type of replacement or additional cabinets for your home, I recommend you go directly to the cabinet maker's web site (in this case my cabinets are Cardell cabinets) and either find another distributor, or speak to the factory directly.
