Don't be blinded by the fantastic pool, sparkling game room, and cute "show apartment" stocked with goodies. Those are the things that made me want to live here, but after living here for over a year, I can tell you that things are not what they appear.



J26 (now renamed 26 West) is dirty, loud, and full of rude, incompetent staff. No one will go out of their way for you. When a problem arises, you will be met with a bland, unconvincing "I apologize. It's unfortunate, but we're doing everything we can." Those words could no be further from the truth.



The wireless internet is unreliable; the majority of the time an Ethernet cord is required. When you call the office to ask for help, they tell you to call Time Warner. When you call Time Warner, they tell you it's an apartment complex issue and to talk to your maintenance manager. No one at this place wants to take responsibility for anything.



It's even worse when it comes to electricity. In the past two weeks, my electricity has gone out twice. The first time, the office proceeded to tell me that the outage was my fault and that there was nothing they could do about it. I personally had to track down the maintenance man and demand that he fix it himself. The second time, they said it was a City of Austin problem and it was out of their control. The residents of the complex were without electricity for over 24 hours.



This place is absolutely NOT WORTH to amount of money it costs to live here. Do yourself a favor, and DO NOT LIVE HERE. If you do, you'll regret it. I know I do.
